As a young man Les gained experience at abundant nurseries by the 1920s he was managing Johnson Nursery in Richmond. During the sadness Les bought a block of land and house in Camberwell and grew poppies and stocks while building up his own plantscaping business. In the 1920s Les’ ordinary customers included the owners of private mansions, live theaters and prestige hotels. It was also around this time Les’ grandsons joined the business. Current CEO, Tony Gerraty, immense grandson of Les, joined the family business in 1986 and the group franchised its plantscaping operations in 1987.
